That Triumph is awesome. I've been looking at scramblers that can actually scramble. That Ducati Desert Sled looks like just the ticket. I like the BMW but I already have one and it's a heavy (1200). The Duc is 800 and lighter. The Triumph is right in the middle, so for me, it's between the Triumph and the Duc.
I thought it looked kinda weird at first, but I think it’s growing on me.... mostly because of the off-road capabilities.
concept is nice but i just realized it's a ducati offroad. last thing i want is for it to break down in the middle of nowhere...for actually using it i'd lean more towards the more proven brands (bmw, suzuki, husqvarna, etc.).
That was my concern at first but they are 3 years into this model with rave reviews and it's selling like hotcakes. I have heard nothing but good things about the reliability. It isn't as bulletproof as the Honda 650 or the others like the Kawasaki, but the Sled looks way better.
my dealer hosted the bmw test ride event this past weekend so my buddies and i swung-by to kick some tires...the triumph tiger in this color scheme was stunning in person. one guy (not a bmw employee as far as i know though) said the r 1250 gs is bmw motorrad's best selling bike...that definitely surprised me since i've only seen one in the wild in like forever (that includes any of their adventure bike lineup)....the thing is crazy wide in person....people must actually be using it for it's intended purpose - smuggling all kinds of goodies across the border
bar hopping in downtown jersey city...been crazy hot lately so i'm relegated to riding after the sun goes down so it cools off a bit.
finally, low 70's! perfect weather for riding. i was hoping to see some of my fellow dggr mountain bikers...wouldn't have minded swapping bikes for a few hours
Man if I won the lottery tomorrow.....1st I'd take my family on a Nice long trip....as Long as they wanted.....let them get it out of their system....then I'd buy a GS...deck it out....load it up.....and point it towards the end of the Alaskan hwy! Ill be back.....when I'm back....
Well I haven't been on here in a while but I bought a Kawasaki 650 versys. Can do a little off road like maybe a fire break road or gravel rd. Looking to get myself into lots of adventures.
Sealing the deal on a 2019 Yamaha XSR900 tomorrow. I'm definitely pumped to get a new bike, but it might make the rest of winter drag on...
