nice! i agree...someone lock this thread down until spring...it's making the itch to ride worse haha.
I test rode one of these 900 triples. You should be very happy with your choice! smooth, torquey, high revving,
Lol yeah this is going to kill me. It's officially mine, but they're going to keep it stored for me until we get a warm enough day for me to ride it home. I'm pissed that I forgot to get a pic before I left this morning. Yeah man I looking forward to it! Should be a nice change coming from my R6.
Dealer called me and said they need to make room, so they're delivering my bike for free tomorrow. I didn't get to fire the bike up yesterday since they were going to hold off on prep, but they did that today so I swung up there real quick. Couldn't get a clear pic to save my life... 20200131_142115_1580500825446 by D Hunley, on Flickr
Thanks! The R6 is tucked away in the corner of my garage. Stator took a crap at the end of the season last year so I need to take care of that in the spring. Left me stuck on the side of the road for the first time ever!
Just a few modifications so far. Bar ends, mirrors, frame sliders, swingarm sliders/spools and a radiator guard. This bike is much more enjoyable than the R6 in every aspect. xsr by D Hunley, on Flickr
first ride of the year was a month ago and only rode again once after that so far...and it's already crazy hot. this year might be the lowest miles on a bike for me (so far my average is only 750 miles per year).
Nice! I'm about to hit 2,000 miles on the XSR. My goal is 8,000 for the year. Have to get as many miles in while it's still under warranty! lol Thanks, Flex! I'm loving it.
damn, that's a lot of miles...good for you. the nearest twisties is 40-miles one way and it first goes through very congested/shopping areas so often times i don't feel like riding.
I used to ride to work a lot, so I usually put at least 5,000 miles on my bike each year. I live on the outside edge of the burbs, so the "country" isn't too far away for me. If I wasn't working from home, I'd probably have even more miles on the XSR than I do. I probably would ride much either if I had to deal with what you do. That's rough. You ended up buying a Speed Triple, didn't you?
Since some of you seem to be fans of finely tuned performance machines, anyone mess with a Honda Ruckus? I've looked at them and even got to ride a modded one (it would go 50 mph!) a few months back. It was much more fun than the guy's new Monkey Bike or his broken Ural.
yes, a 2012 - the last generation with the round headlamps...i don't like riding it as much as looking at it though, haha. i haven't ridden one yet but i've thought about it as a errands bike...i think i'd get bored of it rather quickly though. i'd rather have a honda grom i think for riding around town.
