My new Mora Robust was screaming to go outside...
    Quick backyard bushcraft tea :D
Picked the Firebox Nano to boil my water

The Robust is a curl machine :D
    [IMG]

Makes nice 'see through' slices of gingerroot
    [IMG]

Transfering the lit featherstick to the filled Firebox Nano stove
    [IMG]

    And tea is ready
    [IMG]

Great first impressions of my new knife.
And the Nano is a great little stove!

Since I got the cabin 8 1/2 years ago, I don't think we've done one hike. Have only been camping once since then as well. Sad.

New one as a side burner for the one in my truck. Has an adapter to use the 950gm propane bottle that the other one does.

A new "micro stove" for my kit....

And an adaptor that lets me fill smaller "disposable" Isobutane/Propane canisters from a larger (and cheaper) one.

Out for lunch with my Kelly Kettle
    [IMG]

    Found a nice quiet spot
First prepared some wood for my fire
    [IMG]

While the kettle was on, sliced some gingerroot for tea
    [IMG]

    Splitting into tiny sticks
    [IMG]

Always love it when the kettle is boiling and blowing of some steam
    [IMG]

    put the hobo stove on
    [IMG]

Frying 2 eggs to go on my sandwiches
    [IMG]

Drinking my tea while waiting for the eggs to be done
    [IMG]

    And waiting some more
    [IMG]

    Ready to eat
    [IMG]

Just one more shot because I liked this one alot :D
    [IMG]

It was fun and beautifull outside

Opinel Saw made stove sized pieces of birch to feed the Firebox Nano stove
    [IMG]

    split them in different sizes
    [IMG]
Curls and birchbark to get the fire going
    [IMG]

Glowing charcloth, love the look of that
    [IMG]

    And the first flames
    [IMG]
Coffee while cooking the rest, beans, a fried egg and...

Tasty saucages to make it complete to go with my baguette
    [IMG]

    Ready to eat
    [IMG]

    Had a good time :D

Outdoors lunch today, baked some fresh flatbread and veggy shawarma
Brought the Spyderco Bushcraft UK, Opinel 12 saw, Firebox Nano in my pack. upload_2024-3-29_16-38-37.gif

Prepared a simple dough at home and brought that along. Just flour, salt and water.

Made it into thin discs that would fit in my pan while the shawarma was frying.

    Looks good to me upload_2024-3-29_16-38-37.gif

Hmmm, eat while the next one is on the fire.

    Man it's tasty [IMG]

Enjoying the view and the sounds of the birds while I eat the last one

Great way to spend the afternoon! upload_2024-3-29_16-38-37.gif

thanks for the kind words :D

Brought the Becker BK-9 and the Kelly Kettle out today.
Making up some fresh ginger root tea.

    Chopped, split and debarked sticks
    [IMG]

My BK-13 lives in the pocket of the BK-9 sheath, nice to have a clean sharp knife for slicing the ginger root
    [IMG]

    Put the kettle on
    [IMG]

Love it when the flames come out of the Kelly Kettle's chimney !

Need to cool of a bit before I can drink it
    [IMG]

    :D

    Same Single burner coleman.
    New aluminum pan.
    New Windscren.
I've used the Coleman extensively, low profile, stable platform, fuel efficient and lightweight. Added the Whatever pan and windscreen.
No more large grills, Blackstone, or cast Iron cookware since we downsized motorhomes to a B+ with limited storage.

Looks as if the stove might stack into the pan?
