DND OUT FISHING

 

Got skunked lol, but had fun. Played with some knives also but got too late for a fire. Work comes early. The harbor freight $6.99 Rambo knife did really well in batoning, surprisingly. No chips in the blade from it either. I may replace my esee 6 with it! NOT lol.

 

We went out with a group of friends for supper last night at a new seafood place in town. The restaurant isn't new but the owners and the name is. It's a small place, one of my best friends worked there when we were in high school. Back then it was just a fish market. Another friend and I used to hangout there when we weren't working because there was never more than one other person working there and he was cool, he would go to the liquor store for us on the weekends.

Anyway, I'm not big on seafood so I tried the ribeye. It wasn't bad but wasn't the quality of steak that they advertised. The biggest disappointment was the baked potato. The girl sitting across from me got a decent looking potato. My potato was sliced in two and looked boiled or something. With margarine smeared between the halves and running all over the plate. I couldn't believe that they served something so pitiful looking, especially after it took an hour to make and cost almost $30.

 

I’ve maybe had 5 tick bites in my life. Then I spend a few days relaxing in NC and I get 2 in 2 days... WTH... I hate ticks...

 

Do you think it's trouble starting up or just doing to be an issue?

 

It seems like they're worse around here now than I ever remember. We played in the woods growing up and I don't ever remember having a tick on me.

 

I'm not sure it seems like the kitchen just couldn't keep up. The servers were busting their tails but nothing was happening.

 

Tuesday shall hence forth be called Stumpocalypse

2nd Small Farm / Homestead purchase in 2 months fell through.. 2 weeks before closing..
I recommend anyone thinking of buying property outside the city read up on the importance of a good well. Water right, Shared wells, ETC.. And learn early where your water situation stands..
This last piece of land fell through because unknown to us, the previous owner had granted water Access to his neighbors to his well..
To many people with “rights” to a single well then banks won’t finance…
