Moving out to 35 acres of heaven next month. I’ll have a longer commute (reasonably priced truck gun) there’s coyote and beaver that need to be shot (medium range accuracy) the house is further away from any law enforcerment (home defense) I’m looking for something as versatile as possible to handle all of the above.....and I just want a new gun. Thinking AR Pistol. Any ideas or suggestions?

    12ga. Shotgun cover's pretty much everything for me, but I also have a 30-30, 357mag.& 22lr revolver, 10mm 1911, and a 223 over 12ga. Savage 24F:D
Still looking to add a Ruger GSR in 308.
    And a Ruger American 22lr.
But I know your looking for good reasoning to convince the better half to purchase a new toy ;)

Congrats on the 35 acres, it's always nice to have privacy and room to play.

If that’s Austrian for AR pistol, then I agree.

    Sig MPX.

If you're gonna beg for forgiveness, you may as well go big.

Ah yes nothing like stepping out on your front porch in the morning with a fresh cup of coffee and taking the morning wizz without getting strange looks from neighbor's :p

I thought an AR pistol was the apex of stoopid gun crap, until I bought the stuff to build one. :D
I ordered an 8” .300BLk upper from Palmetto State Armory and the lower parts to build a stripped lower I had as a pistol. With a Burris Fastfire and some fixed Daniel Defense sights it tries to keep shots under an inch at 50 yards off the bench. Added a brace and things got more better. It’s “overgassed” so I recently went to an H2 buffer.

With a decent sight system I’d not have any problem shooting deer under 100 yards with a good super sonic load. It’s still a “handgun” so I can legally carry it uncased and loaded in my truck here in WV. I wouldn’t want to push the envelope with a weapon mounted light due to the way our game laws are written.

Spend the money on a quality gun and sight system and the AR pistol isn’t a bad choice.

My next gun will be an AR pistol. It’ll be my truck gun.

I learned to shoot with a lever 30-30. Lever action.357 has been a thought. Only because it’s a common caliber I shoot in revolver and it kinda fits what I’m after. Decisions decisions.

357 lever action rifle and revolver combo can be a very versatile combo.
Able to utilize full power loads as well as 38's and snake/rat shot.

I have a Marlin 1894c .357. It’s an amazing rifle. It will do almost all of what the .30-30 can do our to 150 yards.

The nice thing about lever guns is low profile they present. Nobody thinks twice about a guy with a lever gun.

Palmetto State Armory 10.5 inch upper, lower and parts kit of your choice. KAK Shockwave blade kit. I put mine together for about $400. I love it. Accurate, lightweight, easy to manuever/stow in a bag/subtle case.
