Can't find the older one -- part 1 -- ... too far down the archive list. So, since it's New Years Eve ! I'll just start another one. What 'chu listenin' to? Me? See below. With gin & lemonade. Hey, it's new years eve. We might even find some shotgun reviews in here. OK, here's what I'm listening to. WARNING: Electronic! Not for everyone! But if you're going to listen, turn it UP!!! <Best heard in studio quality headphones.>
Next: same composer, but much more mellow (MMM), even while intense. Also keep in mind: I'm only 66. My musical tastes have yet to --- .
Flogging Molly ROCKS! You have to stay with it until it unleashes. Just like electronica when done well ...
I heard this track first in the 1970's. It was the theme song to the film "The Exorcist". This live rendition takes away the terror I heard in it after watching that film.
And by 12:04 am, we're on to club funk w/ sax. The woman sax player is one of the sexiest beings that's ever lived on Earth. "There it is!"
1/1/17. Whoa. Looks like somebody had a party in here last night. Must have been fun. Wish I'd've been here. Oh, wait ... Now I remember. But why does my head hurt today? Sorry to be such a post hog. I was just jumping around, watching some favs from the last year, reminiscing on an interesting year, looking forward to a better one this year. NP (now playing): Some very mellow electronica as I ease into dinner after a long walk in deep snow in the woods out back ....
Followed by ... this one must be heard in good headphones or a loud well-tuned system with much bottom end (all the way down to 50 Hz) to be appreciated. Minimalist techno. Yeah, I know; it's an acquired taste driven by experiences on the upper US west coast for ten years, at large outdoor music events with sound systems in the 60 kW range, playing music all night -- that's all night, to sunrise -- with dozens and dozens of beautiful, often scantily clad women dancing beside you .... PS: for me, this is back ground music, when I want something minimalist in the background while I'm working, or editing, and don't want to hear the loud people in the hallway ... it's hypnotic, kind of dark, but level, not too intense, grounded, good beat and bassline, not distracting like a vocal or complex rhythm.
