I never paid much attention to the modified handled 4's until tonight. I was browsing TKC and noticed them and then came on here an took a look and noticed this one. Looks like a practical and comfortable knife. I might need to look more into them.

How is the molded sheath vs kydex. Molded does not look impressive.

Nothing wrong with the molded sheath. IMO works as good as kydex.

I like the molded sheath over the kydex.

Plastic sheath is crap they rattle, retention will start to deteriorate as soon as you start using them. I have replaced all mine with Kydex even though it adds extra expense and the great Kydex sheath was one of the reasons I started buying ESEE knives over competitors.

    A better place!!!!
I'm about 98% with you on that! I don't mind the molded sheath on the 3, the 6's stock sheath became tolerable after I modded it with a retention screw setup, reduced rattle quite a bit and made it work for scout carry so I'm happy enough with it for now. But if and when I order tkc scales for my 6 I'll probably get one of Dale's kydex sheaths.

Let me know how you like the scales. Been kicking around the idea of adding them to one of mine. Started a diy set but without a drill press or electric tools its slow carving.
