I've been using a safety razor for a few years. Before I switched I hated shaving but now I kinda enjoy it. However since I no longer have a job that requires me to be clean shaven, I tend to be a little scruffy. I found these two Gillettes in my granddad's barn. One was his and the other was my great grandfather's.

I've got a Merkur 34c and a 1951 Gillette Super Speed. I prefer Gillette silver blue blades.
Stirling is probably my top choice in soap right now, but I also really like Wet Shave Prodicts tobacco and their mahagoney. Oh and Barrister and Mann Hallows. Oh and LASSC Myrkviðr. Oh and I'm really liking Fine Accouterments green vetifer and their fresh vetifer aftershaves. Oh and also Dr Jons Krampus.

    I should stop now.

Yes. I have the Feather artist club. I like it. It's fairly high quality, and no need to hone (a skill which has so far eluded me on traditional straights) or strop (a little different than stropping a knife but easy enough to learn). The specialized blades last long enough to make them worthwhile.

I'm currently in an area with spotty cell service. If you want to know anything specific I'll reply when I can.

I have a Carbo Magnetic that I will trade...if I ever get the energy and inclination to sharpen it.

    Holy night soil.....

I've been using the same safety razor now since 1981. Gillette. Bought at the PX at Ft. Rucker Alabama.

try this next time you shave......

after washing the shaving cream off with a nice HOT (i mean HOT) cotton towel, pour a GENEROUS amount of ABSORBINE Senior (yellow bottle, for horses) and rub that stuff all over your face.

Say a few pleasant swear words and then bask in the cooling glow and awesome scent. Feels incredible. Tightens the face right up, sterilizes any nicks, and the herbs smell amazing.

My version of "shaving" lately has been a set of clippers with the guard taken off. It carries that air of "Okay, I'm here, but there's beer at home, and if I wanted to put on pants I could be in the woods - So I'm not happy about it."

I have one of those little safety razor kits from Walmart, but I'd like to upgrade to a Merkur, and badger brush. I end up on shaving websites though, and my cart suddenly looks like I've been on a knife site. I just have to nope out and hide my wallet.

Same razors I been using for years. You boys is a spoiling yourselves with all this imported stuff. And believe me, my stubble is referred to by grit rather than shadow.

I am cheap. I use Arko and face lather with a RazoRock Monster. I use an old Gillette Super Adjustable 109. Every once in a while I’ll mug shave (Milk Glass Hazel Atlas Shave mug, or a PAA Crown King porcelain scuttle)

I don’t use any of the new DE razors, because the heads are all plated Zamak-I prefer old, high quality Nickel or Gold plated Brass-like the old Gillettes, or all stainless steel.

Zamak (diecast) is junk IMHO (I’m looking at you, Merkur)
