Nah, HCL/HTL is not so bad. OK, OK. It is, but in a good way! Seriously, though, pre-GORUCK, if you'd asked me if I'd ever do anything like that, without hesitation, I'd say F-NO! Even post-first Challenge... hell no! Even going into it, I did NOT want to do all three events. I did this with one of my best friends and secretly I was hoping he'd say he was good with just doing the Heavy and we'd go home from there... I'm pretty sure he was thinking the same thing. Neither of us threw in the towel and we kept going for it... so many great memories from those events. I can't even begin to tell you guys how much fun it was. Especially to do it with someone I grew up with. I just texted him and he's reminding me of some of the nonsense from that weekend... too damn cool to put into words. Keep up the good work fella's. It's good for the soul!
Anyone have any advice for helping with chaffing of the thighs during events? Manning up has worked so far but with an htl ill need to do better than that. I'm considering longer bike type shorts but worried about sand infiltration and the same malady again.
I’ve always used long compression underwear. They’ve worked well for me. The only time I’ve had chaffing issues was HCL. I always start events with a good dollop of body glide downstairs, but if you’re wet long enough, things go south. My thighs were fine, but my lower ass crack and nether-regions were displeased. Diaper rash cream helps.
I have not had issues, but I have never done an HCL either. What has worked for me is a mixture of 1/2 Vaseline and 1/2 triple anabiotic ointment. Applied liberally.
Hmm what kind of Tramp's you been sleeping with? I remember boot camp alot of guys used Gold Bond powder. Never had a problem with chaffing myself, but I'm picky when it comes to women
