YouTube Survival mindset already posted a video on the Cleaver, and there's another video on the Junglas II.
I did some file work on the tang before putting on the scales. The edge work was uncomfortably sharp so I "melted" it a little bit. Here it is, archived in my museum of Expat knives. This collection may be small but it has taken me years to get to this point.
On a serious note, my cleaver is going to be used almost exclusively in the kitchen. But this is not just any kitchen. About two months ago my son found an outstanding piece of property in rural Missouri. It was a hunting lodge on 60 acres of hardwood forest and a couple of food plot pastures. We successfully negotiated to buy the property together. The cleaver is going to be the workhorse of our kitchen. So while it will be dedicated to the kitchen it could easily be put into service other ways, if nature were to play a hand, in some unforeseen circumstance.
Just a few pics of our property. Here is a drone aerial. Only access via a bridge across one of the main streams on the property. It is very moat like. Inside of main room of the lodge. It's basically a great room, including kitchen, eating area, and living area. Four bedrooms stacked 2 on 2 at the back of the structure.
Where about in Missouri? I have a buddy in Cooter, Missouri. And @SEMO is already sending me a set of scales
That place reminds me of Western North Carolina. Wendy and I are about to secure a small piece of property on top of a mountain in western NC. A close friend of ours owns 300+ acres there and has been begging us to have a place up there. So, the property price is really cheap and it's very, very secluded with nothing but a couple of anti-social friends of our living there. Will probably put a small cabin on it as a weekend hideaway to shoot, ride ATVs and drink lots of Cazadores tequila. The cool thing about it is it's secure, so whatever we take up there will not get stolen or vandalized since the neighbors have a reputation.
Thanks guys. Location is associated within Valles Mines township. We are approximately 50 miles south of metro STL. This factor alone made the place almost priceless. I can get there from home in under an hour. We are isolated with nearest neighbor about 1/2 mile away at the end of our road. The person who sold us the property owns another 700 acres "across the street". He sold it due to divorce and did not want his "ex" living in proximity. Gave her the proceeds. He is about 1 mile away. We are surrounded by water on three sides that define our property. The fourth side is owned by an inactive lead mining company. The house proper and out buildings are on 3 acres of maintained lawn that are surrounded by a six foot security fence. It does feel very fortress like. The house is in the valley (elev 640 ft). The mountain top east tops at 704 ft and the mountain west tops at 812. The terrain is incredibly varied with a great deal of running water, small falls, and creeks. Food plots have been planted with white clover. Deer appear to be quite numerous and we've already scared up some turkey while driving around.
