We ran a teen survival camp this May just east of Valles Mines off of T hwy. beautiful area, lots of deer and turkey, plenty of water sources, edibles, and lots of cedars for friction fire. Great area.
The dogs sure love it. They'll play in streams ... ...or the pool. It took them a while to figure out what was going on in there.
We have a very nice grove of cedar within the forest. The aroma, even without cutting anything, is instantly recognizable.
I've been trying to think of a way to add a patina to my Esee 6 that is uncoated currently. Maybe I'll try stabbing a pineapple with it. Great pic though, @Expat
@mtngoat Skab makes them, he's a member over at BCUSA. He has a larger one, but this is better for me as I'm not grilling I'm just using it as a pot rest with a fire underneath. He even has a photo showing the difference between his large and small one. The small one comes with a pouch that it folds up and goes into. Pretty nice, tbh. https://bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/smaller-folding-cook-grill.197121/ @The Warrior never heard of a donk grill? What's that?
Donk from BCUSA makes/made them. https://bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/carpe-arcus-o-n-3-blue-river.128002/ https://bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/fs-donk-grill-and-hoss-bucksaw.143260/ https://bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/donk-grill-brand-new-never-seen-a-fire-sold.165393/ https://bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/donk-grill.92791/
Huh, they do look very similar. I wonder if Donk got the idea from Skab, or the other way around. They're a little different with how the legs are put on. I think I like how Donk does it more.
I believe DONK stopped making his grills due to health reasons; I was on his waiting list at the end of 2014 and he stopped making them before I was able to buy one. SKAB makes a really good grill , I bought two of his large size grills for my son and I.
