How about a cool titanium blade that was touched by no one else but Expat himself?

I'm not worthy. Only a select few in this world can hold that responsibility.

I have nothing screaming my name just now. A few "wants", the ZT0452CF was one that I satisfied my lust for last weekend a CRK Micarta inlay 21 is there on the list I *think*, but nothing that has me jamming my hand in my pocket just now.

For several years, the top of my list was an ESEE RB3. But I finally saw/handled one about a month ago, and it dropped a little ways on my list; no longer at the top. Don't get me wrong: it's a fine knife. I'm a scandi guy. But it was larger and heavier than I expected; didn't fit my smaller hand well. Nothing wrong with large and heavy, but I still want a scandi that's small and light. I'll still own one some day.

Right now, my main woods knife is a Helle Fossekallen. I like it a lot, but it's a bit light duty. I wonder how well the curly birch handle will hold up.

So, the one I really want is in between the RB3 and the Helle. I think I haven't found it yet: 3.5" scandi with synthetic handle, full tang, 1/4" thick blade.

I'm still wanting a black Spartan Harsey Folder (SHF). Those things look classy as f*ck - just can't afford the cost and I have too many folders already.

Actually, yes I am. The problem is this, if something comes along that I never even gave a thought about, and catches my fancy.....well damn I just have to have it.

IMG_2262.JPG A Randall model 14. I have drooled over this knife for years. Ever since I saw my (step) Uncles that he carried on his second tour in Vietnam. When and if I obtain one it'll never leave my belt.

    This is a great choice.

Here's something to think about: I like the 14, I've had a few of them over the years. I settled on the 15 though because it's a 5 inch blade and I think it's more handy. You can't go wrong with either one, but a 7" blade is starting to get pretty long. Everything else about the two are identical. They are some hard use knives. I'm sure someone's broken one at some point, but I've never read about it yet.
