Yes. Another great historical pattern, for sure.

Kinda like this (...which I currently have on order :D?)

Very nice! Was just looking at those last night.

For the ESEE rendition, I would prefer the classic Herters two finger indentation on the handle though.

It would need a cross draw leather sheath.

I also think that an ESEE take on a leaf-blade design like this should have removable scales, so that folks can customize the fit with different ergonomic options. That's something that doesn't currently exist with this blade type, as far as I know.

    Sweet cross draw sheath, btw.

That could be pretty neat, I would be interested in seeing their take on it!

Now here is an idea for ya:

A scandi grind rendition of the Expat Medellin. Maybe frame lock with thicker (about the same as a single ESEE-4 scale) linen micarta for the scale instead of the G10

yep! a big one. micarta scales, full tang

best part is all Esee needs to do is regrind a Junglas or junglas2 blade blank and add a guard. (guard could be laser cut from micarta , ie integrated into the already bombproof scales ;)

We are actually working on that. I've always loved that design.

Ok, here is another one for ya. With the rebranding of RAT into more climbing and non-cutting gear like the Microplate, the RAT Wrench, Rat Match, etc. How about a RAT Marlinspike?

6" to 6.5" long. 1/4"ish (or even a tad less) diameter shaft (tapering at one end into the point) for 4" of the length of so., shortly tapering out to maybe about 1/2" or 5/8" diameter and knurled for the other 2 to 2.5". Titanium is best, but a PITA. Maybe hard anodized aluminum or stainless steel.

A simple sheath could be made from 1" webbing folded in an elongated Z-shape , two 7/8" bartacks and two 4" lines of stitching.

Make it slightly curved, fully tapered, transitioning from a round cross section at the tip to a rounded teardrop shape at the butt end. This makes it so that as you work it into a knot you can twist the spike to generate a cam-like action to help lever the knot open.

I can vote for the marlinspike. Not so much for myself, but my darling child who ran off to sea complains all the time about the issued marlinspike not being sturdy enough.

( He has no complaint about the Benchmade auto opener he was issued though..)

I think I get what you mean. That would be quite an increased cost on the lathe machining part though...
