I haven’t been on the forum in a while. Good to be back. Swapped the bracelet for an Everest rubber strap on the Explorer II during most of the summer.

The Timex Expedition was the first watch I fell in love with as a kid. Begged my folks for it for what seemed like forever. I believe it was a birthday present. I don’t know where that watch went years ago, but I found one in good shape on eBay recently from across the pond, and I bought it.

My dad rarely spent money on himself, but he has always loved watches, knives, guns, and pens (amongst other things). It wasn’t until I was almost graduating high school that he bought himself a Swiss timepiece. This was a big deal because it was an expensive purchase that wasn’t a “need”, but I’m so glad he did. It was a blue Seamaster. He still has it. So I had to be a copy cat and get a blue Seamaster. I figure if it makes me a little more like him, it’s a justified purchase.

I happened upon an estate sale Thursday and found this. It's a 1972 Benrus Electronic Citation, which I had to look up. It wasn't running and they were asking $45, but the nice lady running the sale offered it to me for $20! A $5 battery and it's up and running, we'll see for how long.
    Now for a good cleaning.

    Nice find.

yes this compass was sold by wazoo survival gear, but they no longer sell it, I found the same one on amazon called the sun compass. I bought reflective tape and stuck it on the back like the wazoo one, and got glow in the dark tape and put it inside the lid like the wazoo one,

Came across this old guy from a Disney vacation 20+ years ago :) Put a new battery in it and it works good as new. The dial glows in the dark as well!
