I geuss this fits. I took a walk with the Baby and the Lady. It is warming here. Getting antsy for camping and fishing and outdoor spring summer and fall tomfoolery.
Boat landing looking towards the shacks upriver.

Dnr wants the ice houses off the water soon. We are in for an early spring.

It was 60 F for the last three days here. Ice season is as good as over.

It is still 40°f at 9pm here. That is a good sign.

Having a couple of days of warmer weather is nice, but around here Memorial Day is when you can count on it staying warm. Still no guarrantee, but close. Before that you could have 70's and you could have snow.

Personally I prefer that it stays cold with a couple of warm teasers right up to when it stays warm. Weight restrictions on the roads really mess with our industry and on again, off again weather just lengthens the time that the frost laws are in effect.

Yeah it can hang on through march here. Comparatively this has been a pretty mild winter, and frankly I want it to end. I usually start my seedlings indoors in march.(I grow hot peppers)

Thanks. I grew up within walking distance of a handful of lakes streams and ponds. Bike distance to a lot more. And not far from the kennebec and the ocean. I quite literally was either in the woods or on the water most of my childhood.

Picture a baitfish, like a shiner. About the size of sardines. People eat them bones and all. Here is a good example I found on the Internet in the local paper.

We haven't had a local smelt fry in years.
