Here are some photos of a pair of upcoming 10" heavy duty utility shears we're having produced. USA-made, with unique precision tips to assist in piercing to start a cut in the middle of a piece of material, yet with beefy blades measuring 1/4" at the spine at their base, and an oversized lower ring you can easily fit all four fingers inside. The sample shown here is hard nickel plated, but we'll be having the production version made in bare high carbon steel. I first had the notion for these back in 2012, and it's very exciting to finally be making progress on the project.
Still gonna' be a little bit until we're ready to get these into production, but we'll keep you posted! We've got a surprise project that'll be hitting the market ahead of these, but after that they'll be next on our list.
We'll be getting a pre-production sample of the surprise project shortly. We'll be revealing it once we have more than just blueprints to show off.
The fine points have been coming in handy a lot in use around the office, especially when trying to cut things like cable ties where you have to get the tip underneath the band to cut it.
They'll be next on the list after the Kingfisher project is finalized. Just got the second set of samples for that little number a few days ago but they forgot to make some of the changes I requested so it's time to have them try again to get everything all dialed in before moving to production. Then once we reclaim the capital investment from that project we'll have it available to fund the sheers.
