Anyone have suggestions for things to avoid or do in getting your very first passport?
Call ahead and ask what to bring.
Make sure everything is spelled correctly.
Don't wait til the last minute to get it.
Its really pretty simple. I set up an appointment at the post office and had it in no time.
Where did you decide to go?
Download Form DS-11 off the state dept website. It tells you everything you need.
I didnt. She did. Bora bora in five years.
Go online and fill out the form. Get your passport photo at Walgreens. Need original birth certificate.
Dont sign it
So... no apostrophes in Strigidae's threads or Strigidaes threads?
its not ok
Esee passport case will keep it safe.
Local post office will hook you up. Pics and procedures are easy.
Like said above read over the instructions ahead of time they are pretty thorough. I also suggest paying extra attention to the photo instructions.... There may be what photos the post office says passes to submit but the Feds are A LOT stricter....Walmart also does the passport photos.
Getting form filled out today and maybe get my ugly mugshot taken next week.
Wasn't sure if expat was messing with me or not but hes right. Don't sign it.
I agree, I use mine all the time!
Depending on dimensions of it when it arrives ive got a lot planned for it. Ill bet itll be a very useful bit of gear.
I travel all the time (50%). Its been with me for almost two years and shows no sign of wear. Good piece of kit.
I get that a lot. People always think I'm joking and I don't think I've ever made a joke in my life.
Yeah, well, walk into Peru customs with an unsigned passport and see whether you make it past the inspector. Been there, done that. Mine's signed.
I was talking about the application. Show up to the USPS with a signed application and you gotta do it over.
You have to sign the passport. I landed in Munich one time and anyone without a signed passport paid a 200 Euro fine.
