So my 12 year old niece is getting interested in deer hunting and wants to get a deer this year. She has been my hunting buddy on multiple trips. I finally decided it was time to get a rifle she can shoot comfortably. I placed a order at Cabelas for a Remington 783 in 243 Winchester. I also ordered a mid level Nikon scope for it. All said I will have was than $400 invested in the gun. If this gun is similar to the numerous reviews I've read it should prove to be more than serviceable for years to come. It's great taking a youngster in the woods and teaching them. Anyways thanks for reading. I'll try and do a review of the rifle once I can get it sighted in.
Good news! .243 is an awesome caliber for youth or the recoil sensitive. Yet, will take deer down with ease!
