Need Help...Rifle zeroing help

    i bought a ruger ranch in .450 bushmaster put on an older Nikon scope with the stock Picatinny I went to zero and All I have access too is a 25 yard range. I bottomed out my scope and it’s still 10” low do I need a 40 moa scope mount to fix the problem?? Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Have your bore sighted it t start with ? That would give an indication if it is the rifle or the optic. Does not sound correct to me to be starting there..... I would also think about re-centering the reticle and starting again.

    Had it professionally bore sighted, doesn’t sound right to me either, spoke to my local gun store dude and he was saying he’d shim it but I’m not shooting 1000’ yards heck I’m not shooting 300’ yards with it most of shots will be in the 25-100’ yard range. That thing should shoot dead flat or close too it at 25 yards

    Agreed. Maybe remove the optics and then refit it to make sure something was not quite right.

    what size objective on the scope and what height rings?
    under 40mm, low rings.
    41-46mm, medium rings
    over 46mm, high rings

    depending on height of your rings, you may also need to sight it in at 50 yards

    Soo after a lot of cursing research and tinkering and 2 boxes of ammo turns out scope is messed up. Thanks guys appreciate the help

    Sent the scope to Nikon for warranty service it’s an older Japan made scope let’s see what happens
