Second fertilizer application today. I was shooting for mid May... coming in good so far. I need to mow. It will have to wait a few days... Triple 13 and some Milorganite. This is a pic of the entire yard. I did have a semi green spike at about week 4 but nothing real bad. Here is a comparison of the neighbors yard vs MINE!!! Now this is my summer project. My other neighbor (87) doesn't care. Has not ever been treated for weeds or fertilizer. 2, 4-D (3weeks ago) and a light application of 13-13-13 today after super scalp.
Not sure how it's classified as organic either as the people are consuming lots of nonorganic things.
Well I'd like to take a quick minute to stop and say "Thank You". All of you big brawny men have contributed to a lush, green turf I like to come home to. You guys have amazing shaaat, & it's very pleasant to work with. I've even been known to run my hands through it and admire such a fabulous product. Keep up the solid effort!
I'm reluctant to use anything that is sourced from a major metropolitan area. Just wondering what other "goodies" are in there... chemicals and stuff from industry and health care facilities.
This stuff works. Depends on your application but max is 1oz per gallon. I did just under 2oz for 2 gallons and within 2 days all of the crawlers were dead in the area I sprayed. I'm still having an issue with flyers but I didn't spray out into the yard, just the perimeter around the house and garage. I talked to a nice gentleman this morning that's going to come hay my front 6 acres this weekend. I'll get a few round bales out of it and he keeps the rest. Everyone's happy.
Had some crabgrass starting to invade. So got some Sta-Green crab-ex plus. Also been battling the moles. So I put down an application of bayer advanced complete insect killer. Applied at the 5000sqft rate to get deep enough for the grub worms. Here are some pictures of my latest mowing. It's really greening out.
Sprayed the yard with Dismiss to kill the nutsedge and a few other weeds I had. Also snuck over the property line a tad to give a good shot of M**A to my neighbors crabgrass clumps. They were a little too close to my yard for my liking, especially since I have rid my yard of it. Hit it with a dose of 28-3-10, should get watered in tomorrow when the storms roll through.
Two weeks after the last application of crabgrass preventative and milo. Things are coming in great! Oh and you won't recognize my elderly neighbors yard. Yes yard. It's not quite perfect but so much better that being 100% weeds. Pics to come early in the week
