About 10 this morning the clouds parted and the sun shone through! More rain is on the way, so I took advantage of the break and took a stroll at the Regional Park to see what I could see and stretch my legs a bit. Found evidence of the usual suspects having been out and about: Spotted this guy a ways off on a branch, warming himself in the sunlight; This was only a couple of miles of trail, so I just took a couple items: camera, my BUCK 110 in a necker sheath I self-made, and my ESEE tin with whistle, tiny signal mirror, band-aids and such. It's enough for a short woods romp: Found these Monterey Cypress cones laying on the trail and thought I'd sketch them in my art book: Finishing the drawing, I could feel the temp dropping and moisture building in the air, and since I only wore a wool Pendleton shirt, decided to pack it in, but it was sure nice to get outside and get a couple hours of nature immersion and adjust sanity, lol.
