So I just got my new Silky Bigboy 2000 in, and noticed that it is packaged differently than my last one.

Apparently this one was intended for sale in a Japanese brick and mortar store, and some of the only English writing on the label states "*For sale in Japan only. All warranty and liability is null and void outside of Japan."

I'm not concerned, especially considering the price I got it for, just thought it was interesting.

Just spent 8hrs playing 9 ball. These little Bose headphones are legit! Only ended up leaving up $60 but it covered my time and bar tab.

Random thought of the day. After owning and using it for a little over 6 months now, the Mora Garberg continues to impress.

After buying thousands and thousands of dollars worth of incredibly high end knives, I find it somewhat ironic that I end up with a fancy Mora on my hip more often than not.

I plan a review after I use it more. Same goes for my Vic Farmer, that thing has been with me for 7 years now, I think it's about high time for a review. It's earned it.

Thank you sir. Just got both of them a couple days ago. Luckily for me the wife didn’t ask exactly how much I spent LOL

I haven't done that in years maybe even decades. Pool, that is. Been really wanting to get back into it.

Can you tell me, please -- clearly a novice compared to someone who spends a day doing it: why two cues? Different jobs, I'm guessing, but what kind for each?

And they are very nice looking. More pics would be welcomed. :)

Thank you sir. One is a break cue and one is what I actually shoot with. I’ll get more photos up soon!

Ah, that makes sense. I'm guessing the break cue is heaviest and/or longest. (?) More mass, more mahem?

I was always pretty good at regular play. I had a knack for angles and finesse
(but nothing to write home about  ).

But I could suck at breaking. Small guy who picked a smaller cue for control, but not enough mass from either (or accuracy with big force) to break up them balls like my opponents could.

While eating a late dinner, I watched some of a 9-ball semi-final tournament between this guy (who turned up in a search of "best pool player in the world") and the other dude that he smoked 7-0.

Then I found this short of his best shots.

Holy Cue Ball, Poolman, is this possible?

toying with the idea of a YouTube cooking series "Cooking With The Bushman"

haul a bunch of fresh ingredients and a cast iron pot or pan or dutch oven into the woods, chop/slice & dice the ingredients with the ol Junglas or Cleaver and cook up a feast on camera..........with running commentary and beer of course :)

    thoughts?

    Yes do it.

But use manly knives. Not that weak cleaver used by Alkazam kitchen.

Completely missed this post @Stone. The break cue is actually the same weight as my Roadline, I like it light! I’m a believer that velocity plays big into the force factor. With a heavy cue it’s slow (9mm vs 45 argument). It also has a hard phenolic tip so there is no energy lost in a soft leather tip as there would be in a regular playing shaft. The rubberized grip also helps me to hold on to it because I’m pushing 280lbs and I grip it and rip it! (As we say around here)

That's very interesting about the breaking cue, and makes sense. There's a lot of science in that venerable art.

This convo has really fired up my interest in pool again. Gonna have to find a table around here. I think I've heard that there's a couple of tables in one of the local bars in town.
