Great report Reno, and I'm glad you weren't eaten!
Thanks man, I've been thinking about heading back up to see if I can find any fresh tracks.
**UPDATE TO THREAD**
My gut feeling seems to have been justified. Tonight just before dusk, multiple people witnessed a large male cougar leaving the forest I was in during this trip report. This is very likely the very same cougar that I was stalked by on New Years of 2017, in the very same area of the very same forest.
Good thing you got out of there
Yay Murder Mittens Floof Floof!
give the purr cat some belly wubz!
One more *UPDATE*
The large black bear I mentioned in this trip is currently rooting around in one of my neighbors garbage (that they left outside.....).
The predators of my area appear to be very active at the moment, coming out due to warm weather, so it's no doubt I likely came very close to one during this trip a few days back.
The bear being around at Midnight is normal, but the Cougar was spotted nearly 1.5 hours before sundown tonight. It was still broad daylight...
Reno, you have to love the BC Parks Crews......
this thread should be good
