I have seen some people that use shock cord or even stretchy hair ties to attach firesteels to their sheaths. I want the quality made stuff not chinese crap. Anyone know where to find the good stuff?. I only need probably a few feet.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey-
Sorry I'm late to the game on this one. Ranger bands are a good way to do this. Ranger bands are just pieces of bicycle inner tube cut to length for use as heavy duty rubber bands. They also burn like a champ, if you need an ad hoc firestarter.

Here's one on an ESEE Model 5 Sheath:

One of our customers used bank line on his Mora sheath. That looks like so: [IMG]

You can probably make your own Ranger Bands. If not, I'm happy to sell you some. I'm also happy to sell you an ESEE Model 5, Mora Knife, Bank Line, or even the little sailmaker's needle tucked into the 100 mph tape on the sheath.

Any thickness will work I bet. Something around 550 paracord size I guess.

Walmart has it in the craft section. I got some orange about a year ago and they have different colors to choose from.
