I might suggest alder stream canvass Jane makes all the packs by hand and her prices can't be beat I have 2 of her packs and the smaller of the 2 My royal traveler has been my constant and everyday companion for years now has been back and forth across the world about 8-10 times through jungles and the adirondacks, climbed to over 12,000 feet up mountains and been to all the major cities on the east coast and has even pulled duty as a patrol bag. It's only this year that it has started to show any wear and she gets treated real rough

The mountain ruck is definitely a good pack but the straps aren't great in my opinion. I picked one up a while ago that had an Alice strap mod done to it and it's way better now...

I don’t have any direct experience with this pack, but a friend of mine has the messenger bag from this company and the quality seems quite good, the canvas is comparable to Duluth pack, he also claims the stitching is very well done.
