We have some Osage Orange trees on our property. I grew up knowing the fruit as hedge apples or horse apples. I'd never cut one open before until today. They're quite soft inside and easy to cut, but they taste nasty. LOL! The juice is VERY sticky and required some Goo Gone to remove from the blade.
Jeez- no post in the famous ESEE 6 thread since November! This is a RC6 project I have had on the back burner for a long time. One of my favorite knives meets one of my favorite combos- curly birch with red liners and brass Loveless bolts. Turned out pretty good, could have polished it up a bit more, and a couple small flaws in handle but all in all, certainly a solid usable knife that I'll use- after I figure out the sheath and throw it on the Tormek sharpener.
