I have to find a place for everything so I that I'm not constantly having to move it. It's coming together though.
Made a mock up of this idea in my head, used wood and aluminum so I can make adjustments easily. This is about as far as my knifemaking goes, may be able to send off to be made. About a 3 finger grip, little more maybe. I think I want the handle a bit short so it can still sit in the palm so unzipping fur is solid feeling and can be used to drill or start divots etc, and just less bulk to carry. My other two favorite small blades compared.
Damn man, if you can do that you can make a knife happen yourself! Order up that steel and handle material, I think you have a winner there.
Finished this up this morning. Time to make a scabbard. Yes, there's blue tape on the edge. I like having fingers.
I needed something to occupy my time the last few weeks, I've had a small sheet of roofing copper kicking around since the early 90's. When I laid it out for a couple bird house roofs I was left with some chunks that for some reason looked like they could be cuffs or bracelets, I dug out the sheet metal tools and ended up with this pile, family has appropriated about a half dozen before I got a picture. I haven't really made anything for a good while, assembled and embellished but not made, felt good beating something out....... I don't think the cat or the wife enjoy the beating part
Spent some time practicing hammer techniques yesterday, rearranging a RR spike into a proper bbq implement: sauce ladle and meat flipper.
