Added some irrigation rain barrels to the collection today. Supposed to be another dry summer so wanted to get these in before the spring rainy season.
intermittent metalworking project from the past 6 weeks - when the weather would let me and a buddy work on it. chandelier for 8 oil lanterns for a 30' diameter pavillion -- designed to fit around the center pole and be raised/lowered for lighting and filling the links are only there so we could check the hang.
Lots of cool ideas and some great builds. Ended up building this challenge coin holder last weekend. Still needs a bit of sanding and a finish. Not sure if I am going to use a varnish or more of a linseed oil. Also ordered the Esee CM6 to go on the top
I can’t wait to be able to finish it. Most likely this weekend. And the CM6 should be here on Wednesday. Even have the small paracord mat to help capture the tip of the blade already made
made 24 tent stakes, shaped the sleeve for the tent pole and fitted it to the pole, and test hung the chandelier. fun thing is that the chandelier is symmetrical enough, the post was freestanding for the picture. the stakes are 30" long, 1" hot roll with a sch40 steel sleeve to help it resist mushrooming - and weigh around 7# each.
Trying to drastically reduce the weight of a SOG tomahawk. So basically reshaping and removing lots of material. I also finished a couple D&D dice spikes I was thinking of making.
Made a table for my new portaband then used it to cut up parts for a pair of farmer carry rails - which i was able to weld up after my post lunch nap.
Ended up making about 20 lbs of bacon brined for 10 days then smoked for 6 hours in a mix of alder and maple wood

A little .308Win to take away with me next Friday..... ....that Rockchucker was my 14th birthday present from my Mum....
Just something easy but functional. I used a rubber washer also to help keep it in place. Little diamond sharpener. Much better than gluing it to the sheath also.
