I haven't seen this over here and would like it in the mix so let's see what you use in the woods or around town.

I've still got a corner full of them from over the years. Very well seasoned and they all have "warped" all that they are going to warp.

I've been using walking sticks since I was 10.
First was a willow branch from a creek near Memphis.
Carved a grip into it as I walked home.

After that, I went through a phase of those carbon fiber, collapsible backpacking models

Current one is a 53" white waxwood that I carry when I walk, even downtown. With it, I can walk on uneven ground, traverse snow and ice, and/or break ribs and spines of attackers using Irish stick fighting techniques.

And if that fails, I'll just pull out the 9.

Late in my day, but I'll be back.

I've got a nice brass ball-top ash walking stick properly sized for my height that I use from time to time when I manage to twist an ankle or throw out my knee.

I keep one in the bed of my truck. Never know when you'll take a spur of the moment hike!

How tall do you guy have your walking sticks. I've heard a foot taller an your height. I'm 6'2 and I have mine cut about 7 foot.

That would be considered a hiking staff. A walking stick should come to the crease of your wrist when standing with your feet at shoulder width. It's at that height that you can bear down on top of it with your hand without wrist strain.

I bet they'd be a pita to ship though. That's why I never followed up. I was just pulling your chain.

Yeah, it would be hard to find a box for it! lol If you're ever in my area or down for one of the farm classes, I'm only 15 miles away and you're more than welcome to come choose one!
