My grandpa made me anal about keeping my knives in "serviceable" condition after I use them. The only one that gets gunked up with pine sap tends to be my Junglas, and it gets a scrub down and oiling after every use and sharpened as needed. I've either worked too hard to attain my knives or they were cherished gifts so I'm damn sure to not let neglect ruin them. Same with the rest of my gear and guns.
Don't worry JMJ, I'm the same way with my knives. At the end of the day, I always wipe off tape residue, sap, or whatever with an oily rag. I believe in maintenance and I can't stand for my knives to be gunked up and dirty. They always get a bath after an outing followed up with a touch up or full sharpening if it needs it. Needless to say, every blade in my house is sharp!
Let's recap... The starbenza will be your work knife until Friday when it goes in for spa. So until Friday you will carry the starbenza, but on Friday you are sending it away, so you'll have to carry your new hinderer. So Friday the hinderer will be your user/work knife? What is happening to the starbenza?
Not my user but I gifted this Rat 1 to my brother from another mother about 5 years ago and it's been his primary edc since. He sends it my way for a sharpening every now and then. This thing still takes a hair popping edge very easily.
Anyone interested in trading users? I have my crk 25 and a ferrum forge ferrox I'd swap if people want to see a different mid tech
What I meant was simply, some of us have invested in mid tech knives and while our choices are proving awesome, we are curious about the mid tech knives we decided against.
