So I decided to pick up a Bushcraft Essentials Bushbox LF (large format) ....I bought the Bushbox LF for a bugout bag I have... since it folds flat it take hardly no space.... Also the fuel source is mainly small twigs and branches which you can find almost anywhere where I live in the northeast It is a very small foldable wood burning stove that packs up flat https://www.bushcraft-essentials.com/english/bushbox-lf.html who among you has a box stove? what type? what do you like about ? dislike? do you have an tips or ideas on what to do and not do with these stoves...?
I got the emberlit for the same reason. All of the box styled stoves are pretty simple: pack with twigs, set on fire, keep fire/embers by feeding in the side. Adjust flame by altering twig volume. There aren't too many things you need to do in terms of running it.
Okay the solo looks great. A gasifier, looks very similar to the Bushbuddy... The bonfire model looks awesome too... Looks like a very clean burn on the solo Which model do you have
The DIY water filter is great... what is the order, in terms of packing..... gravel Rocks/green grass and Sand??? have to try this...
There's a thread about 1/2 way down this forum , "improvised gear thread" that shows the filter better. From the bottom up its sand, gravel, rocks, grass. Each layer being a finer sieve as the water flows thru.
Question for the gear fiends, Does anyone have, use, or has seen the siege stove? It kinda intrigues me.
You can accomplish the same thing with a pair of stainless ground stakes in a can/hobo/ikea stove, right? You don't really need the cross bars for the bottom. I think you should buy a set and tell us what you think
