i like this corner of the forum so i hope it s ok to start this thread here. I started moding knives 3 years ago, with a cheap $10 opinel.this brought me to the be kers and ultimately to this esee forum.if you like opinels, please, post them up,i ll try my best topoat some of the best crafted opi i ve ever seen myself. i think @Stim may own this one...blue buckeye burl and warthog ivory.
Damn @DSD What took you so long man? I've been patiently waiting on you to start some threads on your knife modding again!!!!! Following this one starting now.
"Warncliff" may have been olive wood and walnut wood....those were made by me and by hand...the next i will post will be the work of art of some crazy talented people......
Thanx gary.the reason it took so long is just that i haven t done much with knives lately.but i found my old photobucket account and bunch of old "lost" pictures so there you go,back to the roots.
You got talent brother, your ESEE's and Opinels on the old forum were the most amazing I've seen. I followed that thread right up til darkesidedenny got banned which was a damn sad day . Lost pictures found =
This is a great place for this thread. Every time I look at an Opinel I hesitate and don't press "Add to Cart". So why can't I talk myself into one of these knives? I will continue to watch this thread and see if it exerts undue influence and I end up with one. Maybe because it's made by the French.
The truth is that they're ****ty, but ****ty in a good way and I love them. There's so much history in that piece of wood and steel. But it's not everyone cup of tea, like Marmite I guess lol
Great thread. I have that opi put up in a drawer somewhere. They are cheap little knives, but they are great little slicers.
