Thanks man, I picked it up in a trade for a TOPS MSK and a TI83 graphing calculator from a friend on another forum. It’s a really smooth opening knife and carries like a much smaller knife. CPM-M4 steel definitely holds an edge for a long time with hard use.

Only issue I had with it was the jimping was ridiculous on the liners so I too a grinding bit and took them down until they were near nonexistent and it’s perfect now. I’m guessing being marketed as a LEO knife it was designed with wearing gloves in mind or something.

    One day maybe, one day..
I've had a few benchmades but only have 1 now. It's a black 943 and it is possibly 1 of the best folders I've had or seen for edc. It disappears completely but is big enough to get any job done I've ever ask of it. Tough as nails. Smooth as butter. I can say with confidence I've never had to touch a thumb stud to open or close it. You can pull back the lock and rotate ethe knife and it will open close with 0 effort. Love it.

It has a brutal jimping indeed. It's a knife I wish I got when they were available and the price was right. A workhorse for sure. Another one that I really like is the Rift, which is like a smaller Contego.

I’ve eyed that one or the 940 for quite some time, almost like a smaller Contego.

I didn’t realize the Contego was discontinued. Most all of my favorite BM’s are discontinued now.

I'll tell you my opinion, take it for what it is.
I've used both the 940 and 943 extensively and I find the 943 more usable for most tasks. The pointy blade let's it get in a lot of places that the 940s won't, or atleast as easily. I'm a mechanic and use it a ton for cutting into the tape and plastic sheathing on wiring and zip ties a lot. The pointy tip is a big help.. So like daily knife things it is better suited for. Not to say you can't do those things with the 940, it's just not as easy. Some say the tip is more fragile on the 943 but I've used and abused mine and I have absolutely no worries about that at all. They are some tough blades.
You really can't go wrong either way, they are both great!

Thanks for that information, I was completely unaware they made that model before you posted it. I probably saw it before and blindedly thought it was a 940.

Carried these around yesterday evening. The Alox is growing on me but I miss the tweezers.

Nice random leek, I have a soft spot for them. Got the backwash and stainless version when they were re-released.
