YES! I third this. Based on the Inuit and northern native style , with real fur ruff, cinch-able waist, cinchable bottom, large main front pocket with 3 Canadian (see the pattern 82 Canadian Army jackets) large buttons across the flap, extra large hand pockets and loops to thread thru large mitten cords. https://wintertrekking.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/IMG_0818_resize.jpg
Yep! It only took maybe 10 or 15 minutes with the dremel tool to get them sized up to fit. Only downside is the neck/index finger area is sized slightly larger than the izula.
I'm digging that name Haha. I can toss up some more detailed pictures of the fit and filing tonight if you guys want.
Alright @ChromeDome I've got some pictures for you. The first one is the modified portions of the scales. The green on is not modified, so you can compare how much, or how little I guess, material came off. I did have to grind a bit at all of the internal surfaces to get a good fit. Here is a pick that sort of shows how much length is added on. And then assembled. It is worth mentioning that the fitment isn't perfect along the outside edge. The book is a bit stockier than an izula, and because of that, you will end up with a bit of metal protruding from the scales. I emailed @The Knife Connection before I started in on this project and they were extremely helpful with advice and throwing in a few spare parts for me. Overall I'm really happy with how it came out.
Hi Kevo: Thanks for this. I think I’ll try my extended Izula scales on my Eskabar. (Hopefully, TKC will become inspired to make a dedicated set.)
I'd love to see an ESEE 5 but with 5/32" steel. I love the size of the knife but the thickness lessens it's usage except for real heavy duty work.
Agreed. The 5 is the perfect size but too thick. 5/32 would be perfect. More than adequate with the Sabre grind.
man you guys and your flexible fillet thin knives..... my Tops Operator is 8MM thick and slices like crazy thin pieces of meat or wood.
