What makes them more comfortable? Coke bottle shaped? Thinner?

Countoured handles make all the difference for me. I have small/medium hands, so the square edges of the stock scales aren't comfortable for me.

@Strigidae theyre a little thinner and contoured. The contour makes ALL the difference for me.

The Silky is leaps and bounds better than the Laplander IMO. Gotta be careful because it's a pull saw but it smokes the Bahco.

My new six. Joined the group today. Good ESEE quality and finish. A little bigger than the four but overall not bad. Ill have to personalize the scales. My hands are small.

More fun to bust out the files and sit on the front porch.

Already started working down the front channel.

After a few uses with the six i can see its merits as a one knife scenario. It has the reach to baton well through average sized wood. It chops very well through the woods ive tried. Of course with my uncle hugh sized hands its uncomfortable in certain grips. Ive gotten used to that with the junglas and other knives. For those i do a lot of wood working i run the scales down where there are hot spots. While i still prefer the four, as most times i dont need the reach of the six, it has earned its keep. Well done fellas for posting pictures etc.

When i get the scales down to match my lil hands ill post up what i did and what i used. Dont expect cool machines. Im more of a caveman with my tools selection.

Having had the cm6 for a period of time as well i can say i prefer the esee 6 to it as im not much of a stabber tactical creature and the clip point was a hinderance.

Nobody cares how about a picture...

I'm kinda disappointed @Strigidae. I was hoping you didn't like it so you could sell it to me ;). It's a great knife as you obviously figured out. Can't wait to see what you do with the scales now, I like seeing guys tailor them to their specific wants and needs.

OK, as of this evening, I've pretty much decided to add a 6 to my kit.

    You read it here first.

I need to think more about this before deciding for sure -- I never make snap decisions (after my last relationship  ), especially about important tools. But for several reasons that I'll describe another time, I think it will fill what I've come to understand is an empty niche in my kit.

I'd pretty much decided this before I found this thread. Did a search in the ESEE Knives subforum and found this. I haven't even looked at all the pages yet, but the pics I'm seeing have already pushed me to that edge just 0.1% from certainty.

And this decision -- or near decision -- is surprising me. I've never been interested in a 6. I've owned a 3 (and will again), two Izulas -- a 1 and 2 (still got the 1, a gift years ago from @AddictedToSteel), and an RB-3 is on my list. (I'm working on a deal for one now; we'll see.) And a 6 is not in my budget just yet -- could be months, even spring or later. But it seems to be on my list.

I'll save the why's and where fors for another time and thread. Besides, I suspect most of you 6-aholics will just say, "Pffft! You don't need a reason other than just because!"

    It's ok, I got reasons anyway. ;)

I'd like to get one of those desert tan blades with a pair of neon green tiger eye 2x2 G10 scales neon green or a black blade with red tiger eyes.
