Well o.k. but the new antifreeze is good for 100,000 miles so I don't see the need for a filter. But it could be different up there in the cold north! Just saying.:)

UPDATE: ( Insurance Fraud vehicle found in woods.) Provincial insurance agency is now notified and a investigation has begun. There is a very good chance I will be personally guiding an investigator to the site.

100,000 miles? NO NO NO .......are you nuts? it gets very acidic after 3 - 4 months of easy driving. That acidity eats (ETCHES) away at the aluminum cylinder heads and block. It should be changed TWICE every year. In the spring and in the fall, (prep for winter) along with a new thermostat spring / fall.

seriously its only like $60 twice a year to change your coolant. There is a reason my engines go over 230,000 KMS of HARD use. Fluids.......Tier 5 synthetic engine oils, transmission oil / gear oils, transfer case oils, diff lubes, coolants

coolant filters trap debris in the cooling system and prevents wear on the impeller and water pump bearings. Grit always makes its way into the system, as well hard scale forms and breaks off inside the cooling passages.

O.k. Bushy , I talked with the mechanic's at work and they said that you were right. The water in antifreeze will cause problems. So i get the filter. And the more frequent fluid changes. Also the weatherman said the smoke in Texas was coming from you guys up there. So thanks buddy.
