Mike and I have been busy in our shop playing with some ideas for a new adjustable clip plate for our knives. All of these are just prototypes we machined from Delrin to test some ideas. There are a few other ideas not shown here. We plan on carrying all of them to SHOT show and between The ESEE crew and the Rowens we will walk out with a final design that we can start building molds for and eventually replace all of our clip plates.

Hell yes. I'm a huge fan of both horizontal and 45 degree cross draw. This is exactly what I'm looking for. These need to be a reality please.

Ultimate goal is to eventually replace the current clip plate with an adjustable one, plus make the new ones available as a standalone product so those who have the current ones can replace them if they want to. Was wondering if folks wanted a 45 degree option or just vertical/horizontal. It appears IW17 has already answered that.

Yes, 45* please! That would be wonderful for my 4hm and 6hm kydex sheaths.

I don’t need a 45* option right. Is but it could be useful.

I think the 45° option would be a wise choice. Sometimes you need different positions for different women...

    I meant knives. KNIVES!!!

    #1 Please have a 45 degree option!
#2 Could you possibly use a readily available screw size to make tinkering easier?

Option 2 is not that easy to do. The overall thickness and clearances are based on available hardware lengths. If we use something available in most hardware stores, the clip plate would probably end up bigger than then sheath :). Pretty much have to use a Chicago style screw on this thing.

@Jeff Randall I can adjust length of hardware I just need a thread and diameter that is common.

I assume the final product will be injection molded. In that case the 45* option shouldn't be any more work to make. The mold would require a little more work to machine. And each plate would use up slightly more material as opposed to vertical/horizontal only.

True, but when working a 45 degree option you have to consider user assembly/disassembly on the final product. Working with only so much real estate on the sheath so when you rotate the clip plate at 45, you cover up the clip plate mounting holes. Not a problem as long as the user understands how to properly assemble. Here's today's work:

Of course the clip plate will adjust to any vertical, horizontal or 45 degree configuration so the way I'm showing it is not the only way it will carry.

How about a side view? Does it make the sheath stick out off the belt far?

Here's the side profile of the current prototype. Understand that I built this to use existing Chicago Screws we have. It can get thinner by having shorter hardware built. Actually I like the added thickness since it doesn't jam in your side as bad as the current clip plates. Overall this is about 1/4" thicker.

Been carrying this version on my belt most of the day while working in the shop. Comfortable and bombproof.
