Going to look at this and (hopefully) take it home tomorrow. Couldn't be more excited. The wife and I now have 3 vehicles (the Excursion will make 4) but none of them are something we can comfortably travel long distance in besides my welding rig. I have a salmon trip coming up in 3 weeks and I wanted something before the trip so I'm praying this works out.
So all 3 Excursions and both 7.3 F350’s I’ve seen in the last few days really sucked. I’m going to check out a 99 F250 SD with a 7.3 TD today, God I need this to work.
I would like one of these. New Winnebago Revel on a 144 MB Sprinter 2500. 4X4 Designed for boondocking. 315 Ah battery capacity. 200 watts solar plus additional capacity. Bed system raises and lowers to utilize storage. 5000lb towing. 16-24 mpg.
Super Sherpa 250. Custom rack that will have nutserts once I figure out the case I want to mount on it. Next up is tires and a high front fender.
It is not wise to be in dept making payments on a over priced new vehicle to impress people that you dont even like ! Pay cash !
What @ManOfSteel doesn't realize is that he gets to my house on Wednesday. By Thursday morning I'll have those wheels swapped over to my truck and I'll have the neighbor weld the lugnuts on. BOOM BITCH!
Thanks @IW17 What @Bcamos doesnt realize is I’ll swap the license plates and take his whole truck with me.
@ManOfSteel ....dude......spend like a lousy $10000 and buy yourself a 6x6 with a CUMMINS diesel. Build it up as your work truck. Paint it RED WHITE & BLUE. Put your bitchin' logo on the sides. Add a dozen oxy/acetylene tanks onto it, a cutting torch spool reel, a plasma cutter, and your mig/tig diesel welder.........add a crane winch hoist so you can lift materials up into the cargo area. Market the fark out of yourself and tell customers......I can weld anywhere. No matter the season, no matter the weather, no matter the terrain........you'll be drowning in cash. quit farking around with FOUND ON ROAD DEAD trucks............ go hardcore.......CUMMINS......
02.20.18. These are still my only wheels. We've had 2' of snow, now down to 1', and that's likely to melt this week. <A February heat wave is upon us.> I welcome the chance to walk out back w/o the snowshoes. It's reminiscent of spring, which IS coming. But at least I've got my legs and feet!
But just to be clear, I'd trade that bike in a heartbeat for a Surly ECR. Or even a car. Tired of pedaling for six years, fighting cars and trucks for the right to ride on th' road. A man reduced to a single instinct: Survive.
