A few pictures from my recent trip to visit my sister in Scotland. I lived there as a kid from 1991-93 in Montrose, my dad worked in the oil industry. I visited in 1999 and hadn’t been back. My sister ended up moving back to Marykirk in Aberdeenshire with her Scottish husband and my niece in 2008. Here’s a few pictures of the trip. It was more of a family reunion than a site seeing trip. My brother in law committed suicide back in September, I got my passport in the mail and went to visit as soon as I could.
Dunnottar Castle, one of my favorite castles when I was a kid. It was closed due to weather so I only got exterior pics.
Here’s a few of the church in Montrose and it’s cemetery. I don’t have a thing for cemetery’s I promise. I just like historical places.
Facing east on Garvock hill. The ocean is off in the distance but the cell phone doesn’t pick it up very well.
I had some good pics of the Montrose beach and harbor but somehow deleted them off my phone. Hopefully my next trip over will be in a couple of years and I’ll have a decent camera to do the scenery justice.
Thanks for the kind words. Mental health is a real issue. Everyone should talk to their family and friends on the phone regularly , you never know who might be struggling.
Have always wanted to visit Scotland. My great, great grandfather came from there. Sorry about your brother in law. My older brother committed suicide as well. Miss him dearly.
