These are from a short solo hike I went on this past Halloween night. Never seen this sort of fluffy white fungus growing from scat before. Anybody know what it is? Almost looked like fur. A print left by the perp (black bear), left sometime the night before.
More scat...not sure what it is. Guessing either fox, bobcat or skunk. Bout 6-7" long, no discernible tracks nearby.
Been away from this thread for too long. (Crazy busy with professional stuff, about to go for the big time one more time, so pretty distracted from this fine forum.) Caught up reading mostly, still need to double check. And that bear and rabbit cartoon is HILARIOUS! Best laugh of my day. I have a comment or two -- especially on Reno's bear scat fluffy fungus, but dinner calls, then I've got more work to do in the studio. I'll try to get back this weekend latest ... Until then, I gotta scat.
I'd all but forgotten about this thread otherwise I'd have taken a picture of the purple turkey turd I saw the other day Yes it was purple, they love mulberries
That fuzzy bear poop? Was for sure less than a day old, as I was at that exact spot the day previous, and I saw the bear head up there that night. Tracks were also fresh. Fungus tends to grow real quick in that area, especially in the fall.
