I'll have to consult with my attorney (she's just working her way through law school as a dancer. Don't judge me...) to make sure that my patent on whittling a piece of wood, wedging it inside the folder handle and wrapping tape around it to keep it secure is not infringed apon with all these new ideas y'all are experimenting with. Wedging the blade open and taping it actually happened when a friend's liner lock folder broke a half day into a long weekend fishing trip. We made him a sheath for it out of tape and a piece of water jug.
Off roaders used to call a similar rear end mod a "Lincoln locker." Will this make it difficult to cut on a curve?
Had our friend Ken Onion take a look at the rough working prototype of the lock while we were at SHOT show. He really liked it and especially liked the simplicity and strength. We had already filed a patent pending before SHOT so now our patent attorney (he was with us at SHOT) is doing a full patent search and if that comes up clean we will be converting to a full application with some additional claims. As soon as we are good to disclose publicly we will. And just as a side note, we are working on some new steel recipes. Not sure when we will be ready on those but we should be putting some pass around samples out soon for folks to test to see if they’re worth the investment.
if 80crv2 is one of the ones you're looking at, I think you'll be happy -- with the right HT, it's impressive and tough. The HT protocol is also a little more forgiving than 1095.
So there is potentially a future where an M390 or 3V 3HM/4HM exists? At least that's how I'm going to interpret this.
If 80crv2 were an option... it would be a game changer. The mere mention of it makes me excited. And with a rowan ht? Esee would go from production to grail lol
