Hey folks. Looking for some insight into a muzzle break for my Scout rifle. It's a .308. Any info or insight is welcome. I'm not looking to specialize the rifle just make it a little better overall. Thanks
I picked up a SureFire ProComp for my .308 Scout and I love it. It wasn't too expensive and the felt recoil is almost non-existent (but I also added a Limbsaver at the same time). Here's a good "shoot out" review for a few different .308 brakes: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2016/02/jeremy-s/308-muzzle-brake-test/
I have a POF-USA triple port muzzle brake. Works well. Won't break the bank. It does use a jam nut instead of a crush washer, but if that doesn't matter to you... https://pof-usa.com/shop/upgrades-accessories/muzzle-brake-triple-port-p308/
My GSR synthetic came with the factory muzzle break. It is fairly compact at 1.75 inches and performs well with high power loads. I very much like it but as with all breaks it is loud. Officer Lucky, Rugers web site has this break as part #90602 for $59.95.
