    Two knives in the photo.

Brown one is from a new maker from Finland Rokka.
The black one is the gen 2 Sissipuukko

Nice, I really like both, lamnia is running a sale on the second gen 6 inch sissipukko, if they have one of those rokka's in stock I'd be tempted...

How are you liking that Peltonen? I'm concerned about the rubber creating hot spots.
Is that the 5 ish " or the 6" ish?
The sheath looks solid are you wishing you'd gotten the Kydex version?

It is the smaller version Peltonen M-07, however I do own both.

I do not have a ton of use/hours on either knife. I moved out of my Adirondack bushcrafting paradise last fall. So my field time has been a bit diminished.

I don't think you'd see hot spots with normal usage. Perhaps with extreme extended carving, maybe.

No regrets on the leather sheath choice. Quiet, good retention, and no unnecessary kydex scratching of the blade.

There is a small rolling rubber wheel at the entrance to the sheath. it keeps the knife securely retained. The plastic platform works with your thumb for easy one hand extraction.

I have the original 6 inch m95 peltonen with the custom kydex sheath lamnia sells. It has same handle shape, not sure if they have updated the material for the gen 2. I can tell you when I got it the seam from the two part mold in the handle bothered me a little bit but an exacto knife and fine sandpaper took care of it no problem. Other than that I absolutely love the handle shape, it looks odd but is 100% designed by someone who has used knives in some harsh conditions extensively. It is one of my favorite cold weather knives, seems to work very well with cold hands and with no exposed metal doesn't get your hands any colder, not super suprising given the region it hails from lol. Also as far as tactical knives go, it doesn't look it but it would be my top choice out of all of my "field" size knives if that was all I could have as a defensive weapon, I have definitely carried it at times when I couldn't carry a gun but was allowed a knife of that size for just this purpose. I sold my esee 6 with tkc handles and kept this at one point when I needed some extra cash, and it wasn't because the 6 was more marketable, I had higher offers for the m95 with it being the original FFG version.

Thank you for your response and thoughts on the whole system. I had never seen anyone post up about the Peltonen's, but they made it into my cart over at Lamnia. They have a pretty good package deal if you buy both of them together, and then they ship free.

The handle does look comfortable, I was concerned about the rubber causing blisters with extended use. I've had a couple bad experiences with cold steel's rubber doing that.

Just got it in today! soooooo much better then the leather one. I like leather don’t get me wrong but I hate how far down in the sheath it sits. I’m going to make a post on why I don’t like it and what happened to me today.

Finally got around to getting a lift mate for my hi lift, well worth the 30 bucks if I ever need to get out of a jam and justifies the 70 lbs of hi lift jack I was already carrying primarily for winching applications.

I think that the Lift mate is the best thing you can buy to go with a Hi Lift if you keep one on your vehicle. I wore out my original one late last year after fifteen plus years of use and immediately ordered another one.
Even if you have steel bumpers or sliders that you can use with a Hi Lift there will be times when you may not be able to access those areas and you can still lift by the wheel.

Besides lifting by the wheels, I think it works better on curved oem bumpers that the separate thing they sell for that.
