@ManOfSteel those are good discs to use, those Destroyers fly like crazy. I can't see what the Champion disc is, but the lip looks like a mid-range? The Aviar is a good putting disc as well.
Awesome. I got 2 destroyers because he isn’t with Innova anymore and they’re getting hard to find. Yes that’s my midrange- Roc3. I’m excited for this. I have 3 courses within 20 minutes of my house, one of which is Rutgers University. ETA: I figured grabbing a few that I like was better than a 3-disc beginner set. Yay or nay?
The beginner sets are hit or miss. A destroyer, Roc3, and Aviar are a much better set to use. Roc3's are still a go-to disc for pros, and they're about as good as it's going to get. When you're better at using a distance driver without cutting hard, I would recommend trying a Valkyrie. I use it for all my 100+ yard drives but it's easy to accidentally bank it hard.
I almost grabbed a Valkyrie when I was there too. I’ve been throwing about 70yds from my garage to the mailbox (using it as my pin) and I have a lot more control with the Roc3 than I do with the Destroyer. The Destroyer wants to bank a lot more than the Roc3 does. The Aviar flies straight as an arrow for me even at that distance.
Well I got a couple jobs people want me to do on their knives. An esee 5 and an esee 6. They've been ordered and I got the scales for one of them today. The death to whiners is MINE
Voodoo Lab 4x4 power supply. JHS Little Black Buffer pedal Two sets DR Black Beauties (29.99 for two sets. That's a sweet deal.)
Most recently an iDrive throttle controller for the Landcruiser...... my next "purchase" will be paying the workshop this week for fitting up all the gear I bought while I was off sick... but they did (despite some bitching) fit my "Zombie Lights" !! I will add the "Alien Lights" (rear facing) later.
PipSqueak was from a dumpster (wrapped plastic bag and tape at 6 weeks old) . Yes i payed extra , in vet fees,.....but SOOOO WORTH IT!
I just received my first Beck knife, a 6" Ledge Rock. One of very few made. It's gorgeous, but was well used by three previous owners. So I spent a good four hours hand sanding, polishing and finally degreasing and coating with Ren Wax today. For those of you unfamiliar with Dave Beck knives, he makes some of the most gorgeous, usable blades around. Differentially heat treated O1 tool steel, black linen micarta, perfect thin, but well balanced grinds. Some of his older work sells for upwards of $3600 USD. Having conversed with Dave via email, I'm fairly confident this won't be my last piece from him. He's a wonderful guy to speak with, and incredibly helpful. As it arrived... And here it is after I got done with it.
Yeah, so I went off the sharpening deep end and bought a Tormek T8. Been wanting one for several years, decided now was the time. Pics go here when it arrives...
