Talon grip wrap and new OWB holster for the X-5, courtesy of Muddy River Tactical:
Picked up another Cold Steel shovel to replace one I gifted recently.
Those things are like HiLift jacks, you'll run out of energy before you run out of uses for it.
Ordered 2doz bass flies for this summer. Super excited for them to come in.
bunch more history books for the library:
Mekong Mud Dogs: The Story of: SGT. Ed Eaton
Blackjack-33: With Special Forces in the Viet Cong Forbidden Zone
Silent Warrior: The Marine Sniper's Vietnam Story Continues
Sog: Secret Wars of America's Commandos in Vietnam
and another MayFlower Research/ VELSYST jungle butt pack (multicam of course).
and I ordered a second MKettle SAS Ultralight kettle, just to have a spare if they ever stop making them. (might order a bunch more in the next few weeks, just to have a healthy supply of them. )
Please let us know what you think of these? I would love something similar to add to the kit
well, if your buying from Canada, expect to pay HUGE, however if your buying form the USA, you can get em cheap.
So far i love em. They weigh nothing, are extremely well sealed, precision threads, about a 1/2 turn to close them. Waterproof to 120 feet. Whats not to love? You can pretty much stash anything into these and they take up very little room in a pack or pocket
a few things I have put into them so far: post #390
Bad ass man!
Hell yeah, bushy! Glad they made it there quickly and intact.
Picked up a Chaves Ultramar Redencion (Drop point, s35vn, black PVD, black micarta inlay). I've been eyeing them for awhile, and I love skulls, so Ramon's pocket clips have always caught my attention. Never gonna pony up the funds for a full custom (228) and I got the Ultramar for a great deal.
Initial impressions??? Its a BADASS overbuilt folder, with awesome machining and attention to detail. I was concerned it would be too "overbuilt" and not practical for daily use (like a Medford), but the blade is actually a good thickness and has a very usable grind geometry. Aggressive jimping, solid lockup and detent, and feels great in hand. I would consider it on the same level as any of the Hinderer ZTs that I own (0560, 0562, 0566 etc.) in terms of design and durability.
It is probably one of the coolest (looking) blades I own, and I'm very pleased with it overall. I might replace all the shiny silver hardware with black stuff, 'cause that's just how I am
Just ordered a JG3
One more item for the casting section of the reloading room, lead furnace/pot. Made by Saeco for Lyman back in the day, Lyman 61. It needs a little love/restoration, already sourced switch/rheostat, heating element..etc. Bolts are soaking in kroil, I’ll break into it this weekend after I’m done cleaning up the lube-sizer.
KROIL is the best!!!
2nd HENSCHEL Aussie hat. This one a mesh Breezer hat for summer. Even with the fine mesh it’s 30SPF protecting
edit, got the hat and the booklet satates its 50 SPF protection. Nice
This project has been one wild ride for sure, but it's finally at the home stretch. There's still a bit left to do, but I couldn't help but share this before and after picture. It's come such a long way from the ugly duckling that it was.
You all must be so excited!!! I love it!
Thank you! Yeah, we're just ready for it to be over so we can move it haha.
Not a buy but a trade for my esee 3. Not a bad deal I don't think.
Just paid $20 to Spyderco for 4 replacement pocket clips. This is the sole thing I dislike about Spyderco. Nonsense.
