Surplus CDN Forces MARK-iii combat boots. You can order online thru HERO OUTDOORS. no insulation, no Gore-CrapTex , no liners, just pure leather. I often wear them with wool socks in 50 C deg heat in Lytton and area and feet never smell. Can be resoled by grinding down the sole and gluing on new soles, but it will raise them up a bit.
Short cuz I run it on full blast. I ordered 4 more batteries for it. Specs here: http://budgetlightforum.com/node/63196
It’s not that bad, it’s a very gradual decline from 4000 down .......I walked about half an hour before I really noticed the dimming Either way it’s not a good SAR or long runtime light , better options out there. It is bleeding edge though as far as headlamps right now
Gotcha. They state minutes on the site. I guess they mean minutes before it loses peak light. But if you get half an hour of good strong light that pretty impressive
A couple things came in. Unfortunately my friend stiffed me on half the pack because it didn't come in time for the weekend.
Debuted at Shot , and just released from HSGI , their new canteen pouch. I got the first pouches sent out in North America. These integrate perfectly into the SORD webbing harness, with the two d rings. Been waiting for these for a long time. Think im more excited by these pouches than all the new knives i bought.....LMAO!!!
Esee 3 (another on the way/forum buy) to go with my GB 6. The 3 should fit the bill nicely to clean up an elk/deer.
Got my fancy new SAR vest delivered today. It can take a hydration bladder in the back and is just padded enough without being too bulky.
opinel no. 8 garden knife...i wish it was carbon steel like my other no. 8 but for me this has a much better blade and handle shape so i'll tolerate the stainless for now. opinel no. 102...i think i found my grail paring knife - checks all the boxes for me including carbon steel compared to the victorinox stainless which i've used for years...i hate that it doesn't patina - i don't like knives that always look new.
