Nope. Not familiar. Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to suggest H&K aren't solid. I was just asking if they weren't good at one point. But apparently, the bad **** I heard was either on one particular model no one currently knows about. Or (more likely) it was total BS.
H&K VP70z..... M7M8 was brilliant... M13 was like a fat chick, not stylish but worked, though never felt great in hand.

Kinda cool they made a 3 rnd burst version. @Nether I wasn't being defensive or anything, just threw that P7M8 out there as reading fodder. Always thought it was cool, just not widely known about. I've never owned any H&K's yet myself, always wanted a USP 45. Hopefully my chances of doing so eventually aren't halted tonight
The USP is nice. If you're gonna do that save a couple dollars more and go HK45. It's the upgrade. My cousin carries a USP 40 as his duty gun and the HK45/P30 is much nicer IMO
I have seen and handled a few but never shot one. I think the design is kid of goofy personally but they have a cult following for sure. I don't like the safety or the limited capacity personally and think the ergonomics suck. They also get VERY hot within a few rounds and folks have been known to keep a bucket of water on the range if they are firing them for an extended period so they can dunk them to cool them down. The P30SK has always intrigued me but I've never been a fan of the HK triggers so I have passed. I have owned a couple of USP Compacts and a couple of regular P30 but they never stayed around very long. I do think they are very well made and reliable. I just prefer other makers.

..... yes without thestock and resultant burst mode the VP70z was a really boarding on horrid..!! The P7M8 (vs P7) added some heat shielding to the front top of the trigger guard in response to the heating issue. This was not at all optimal on a range toy but the reality is as a duty gun in a fight one is probably not going to notice. The USP (in 9mm) replaced the BHP out here with the Special Forces types and is a solid handgun.
Is it because their triggers have a heavy pull ? I ask because I got that impression from a review I read the other day. The listed trigger pull weight seemed excessive to me. I just found the review, I'm thinking 5.5 lb trigger is typical for an automatic, isn't it ? CZ has a 911-style automatic that has a pretty nice trigger pull. A dude at my local fire range had me dry fire it to see. Felt like ~3 lbs - that was hammer pulled back. Would you call that single action mode ? Nice gun too, melted in the hand. All steel tho, so I reckon heavier than a polymer variant.
silky big boy...going to do a head to head test with the bob dustrude quick buck saw this weekend. silky is a hair under 15 oz & $50 vs. dustrude's 15 oz & $64 so should be a good comparison.
Look forward to the saw off! I did a comparison between my Big Boy and Sven and am curious if you got the same results. The teeth of your Bob saw looks very similar to my Sven.
Yeah for real, unless you want to snap your blade! I've already broke a tooth off my Bigboy, but you wouldn't know it because it still cuts like a demon!
