New sharp tool with extra's, a belated birthday gift.


An Opinel #08 inox with the fork, spoon and cloth where it all folds in to.
To take out on my hikes and eat (more) civilised


Finish of the wood is less yellow than my older Opinels, dont know of that's on all recent Opinels or just on this set.


Really like the fork.


Spoon is a bit on the small side I think, but that's a first impression without actually using it yet.


All tools are marked #08, have never seen other sizes available... maybe future plans ?


I look forward to using this fun set of tools.

What do you think of that Kansbol?

Been thinking about getting just a regular Mora for a car camping lunch/kitchen knife since the hard sheath would be nice for storage. Would it be worth the extra $ for a general camp cooking knife or what do you think of it?

 

I love the Kansbol. It's very versatile imho.
Thin and long enough for food prep, study enough for some (light?) battoning, very lightweight and compact. GREAT handle material and shape. Takes a scary sharp edges.

 

Made myself a skrama 200, the scales are curly birch, leather sheath and razor sharp,
And build in my balcony

And now for something completely different.
I’ve been carrying a folder clipped to my shorts when running for 30+ years and the current knife is a Spyderco Delica. I wanted to try something that I could sweat on and not worry about and found this G10 fixed blade from Oso Grande Knives for $15.
It came with a decent point and a usable edge as long as what you’re cutting is pulled taught. It’s not a good slicer and I don’t know how good an edge I’m capable of putting on it.
The finger grooves are not in a good spot and I drilled a couple holes forward and back to help secure the 550 cord

And the middle section pushes into my fingers on my medium sized hands

New wrap with a knot on the right side, to catch the elastic of my shorts carried at 3:30

Cut some paper, pretty rough for both a slash and thrust. I tried to tune up the edge with a fine ceramic rod and it helped, but not too much. I did punch it into some standard cardboard and it went through without any issues
