    Technically it's not a hamon, but it is the result of differing rates of oxidation across the steel inside the foil packet during heat-treat - presumably during cooling. It's just on the surface, the blade is through-hardened as with all air-cooled steels.

    Just put the sheath back together after painting it. Krylon camo, flat dark earth and OD mix.

    Turned out pretty nice if I say so myself. It started out as a standard coyote molded plastic sheath and belt clip.
