How does bamboo light? Never tried it.
Burns well if thinned out, scraping your blade along like it was Fatwood will give some great shavings.

It's a Teemu Häkkilä puukko. Stabilized curly birch, forged 80CrV2, hot waxed sheath.
Here's an oak bark boat filled with fatwood curls. Some damp wood called for a little extra heat to get cooking.
